My friends and I eagerly waited for Episode 1 of (Still) 2gether: The Series to drop on Friday, August 14. Nakaabang talaga kami! As weeks turned to days, and days turned to hours, finally, it was 10:30 p.m. But as we refreshed the GMMTV YouTube channel, we were shookt to find out that the mega-hit Thai BL drama WAS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE PHILIPPINES. What was this? Joke ba 'to?!
So, we did the next best thing: find out what the heck was going on via Twitter. Lo and behold, we discovered that the only way to watch the drama ~legally~ and in real-time was to stream the Filipino dubbed version on iWant. ABS-CBN acquired the licensing for 2gether a while back, but fans of the show weren't given fair warning that there wouldn't be any English subbed version available on the platform, nor did they think it'd be blocked on YouTube. Naturally, fans were pissed, myself included.
But, hey, what do we have here? It seems that iWant heard the public clamor for the option for subtitles, so they gave us just that! Starting this Friday, August 21, a Filipino dubbed version will be available on iWant at 10:30 p.m., and its original Thai version with English subtitles will drop at 11:30 p.m.
All 2gether now: THANK YOU!!!
