When Stars Lend A Hand To Ondoy Victims

During a time of need, these stars shone brighter by doing their bit to help.
While it was a trio of matinee idols who swam (Gerald Anderson), rode a speedboat (Richard Gutierrez), and surfed (Jericho Rosales) their way to help those trapped in the flash flood caused by typhoon Ondoy that made it to front page news here and around the world, other stars also made their mark as true Pinoys willing to help those in need.

Katrina Halili began distributing food, clothes, pails, etc. last Monday after the flood in Marikina. She plans to go to Taytay, Rizal this week to distribute more goods.

Francine Prieto, aside from donating to the Kapuso Foundation and sitting in the Kapuso telethon, distributed relief goods with friends Chynna Ortaleza, LJ Reyes, Say Alonzo, Ryza Cenon, and Paulo Avelino somewhere in Quezon City.

Dingdong Dantes, together with Dennis Trillo, Gabby Eigenmann, John Feir, Antonio Aquitania, and Yes Pinoy Foundation staff and volunteers (Dingdong’s foundation), set up Tindig Pinoy Laban Kay Ondoy Relief Center, in cooperation with several Pasig NGOs, the 3rd Technical Service Battalion of Philippine Marines, and Baranggay Manggahan Pasig.

Last Thursday, real life beaus Dingdong and Marian Rivera went to Cainta to distribute relief goods.

The Rosalinda pair of Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana brought relief goods to the Red Cross Alabang chapter and donated more for the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

Bubbles Paraiso and her friends distributed relief goods as well. She and JC De Vera also volunteered early last week to help the Kapuso Foundation repacking satellite of GMA.

Alfred Vargas conducted relief operations and mass feeding in greater Fairview and may schedule more operations in other affected areas throughout October.

It was a mixed group Kapuso and Kapamilya stars Mark Herras, Rainier Castillo, Yasmien Kurdi, Felix and Dominic Rocco, and Alwyn Uytingco plus non-showbiz friends that went to Bulacan early Thursday morning to distribute relief goods over the weekend. They refused to be accompanied by a camera crew to avoid coverage.
