Hello, fellow rom-com fans! There's a new indie flick to look forward to. It's called Write About Love, and it stars Rocco Nacino, Miles Ocampo, Yeng Constantino, and Joem Bascon! Here's what we know (so far) about TBA Studios' newest film, directed by Crisanto B. Aquino:
1. The story will give us a peek into the writing process for a romance film!
According to TBA Studios, Rocco plays a "veteran" writer who's teamed up with a newbie (Miles) to create the perfect romantic movie. However, their clashing views about love and relationships get in the way—he's "Mr. Indie" and she's "Ms. Rom-Com." Will they be able to finish their script? Or will they create their own love story along the way?
2. This film marks Miles' first lead role.
We all know Miles as the adorable kid from Goin' Bulilit, but she's all grown up now! The actress turned 22 this year and said in an interview with Inquirer, "I'm usually seen by people in sitcoms like Home Sweetie Home and Goin' Bulilit. This time, I'm doing something more dramatic; something that will show I can do rom-coms, as well." Miles added, "As an aspiring scriptwriter myself, it's as if the movie was made for me.”
3. Rocco talked to actual scriptwriters to prep for Write About Love.
His role in the movie is an introvert, someone who doesn't like being around a lot of people. He'll also sport ~fake~ tattoos! During an interview with GMA-7, Rocco shared that he had discussions with film writers and was able to form a clearer view of his character through those talks. "Dahil nagsisimula pa lang ako, putol-putol, ideas, ideas. So siguro mga apat, limang pirasong papel na puro ideas, concepts. Siyempre wala pa akong grasp kung paano talaga magsulat para sa isang pelikula kaya marami akong ideas, tapos doon ko na tinutuloy-tuloy. Nakikita ko yung joy and happiness sa paggawa nito."
3. You'll be super excited for Yeng Constantino and Joem Bascon's roles.
The movie's teaser also reveals that they play the lead characters in Miles and Rocco's ~unfinished~ screenplay. The film will also feature Yeng's rendition of the Jolina Magdangal song "Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal."
4. It's set for an October 2019 release!
