The Department of Health (DOH) has released a fresh set of precautions in response to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the country lately, one of which is the wearing of face masks indoors for those who are sharing their homes with other people.
The Department shared the tips on its official Twitter account after the Philippines recorded 7,999 confirmed cases—the highest recorded single-day case count—on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
"Mask at home when not alone—everyone is called on to wear their masks properly, and to observe other preventive strategies, AT ALL TIMES and IN ALL SETTINGS—even at home when living with other persons, especially the vulnerable," the announcement says. Other tips include improving air circulation at home and suspending all non-essential travel.
New virus variants have also been detected in the country, which pushed the government to bar the entry of foreign nationals into the country until April. Overseas Filipino Workers and returning nationals, however, are allowed to come home following certain protocols.
