A Filipino In The UAE Has Tested Positive For Novel Coronavirus

It will be the second time a Filipino has been confirmed to have 2019-nCoV.

A Filipino in the UAE has tested positive for novel coronavirus, the Emirates News Agency reported on February 8. The Filipino and a Chinese national are the latest confirmed cases of the virus in the UAE.

This will be the second time that a Filipino has been found to be infected with the 2019 coronavirus, which is believed to have originated from Wuhan in China.

On February 5, a Filipino aboard the Japan cruise ship Diamond Princess tested positive for 2019-nCoV, marking the first case of a Filipino citizen with the virus.

As of the moment, there have been three confirmed cases of new coronavirus in the Philippines, with all patients being Chinese nationals. One of these was a 44-year-old man who died of acute respiratory disease. Another was a 38-year-old woman. The third patient was a 60-year-old woman.

On February 7, the Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 57 negative cases and 155 pending cases for coronavirus test results.
