In the last five years, 29-year-old beauty influencer Negin Mirsalehi has amassed over four million Instagram followers; to give you some idea of how insane that is, she has a larger following than Saint Laurent!
Because of this, she's worked with a lot of respected brands (like NARS), but believe it or not, Negin is incredibly picky about who she collaborates with, picking only one percent of the offers she receives. That kind of decision-making process obviously pays off because based on documents Negin provided MONEY, some of the companies she partners up with pay her up to $20,000 or over P100,000.
She told MONEY, "You have to think about what kind of influencer you want to be and what kinds of brands you want to work. If you want to work with luxury brands, you have to be way more picky and you have to have courage, dare to take risks, and say no."
In 2015, Negin and her boyfriend, Maurits Stibbe, launched Gisou—a hair care line that contains honey products: "It was a big investment in ourselves, it was a bit tricky but it ended up being perfect." And according to Revolve, a company that sells their products, the brand is a huge hit among their customers; Gisou products sell out almost as soon as it's restocked.
