PSA: You Can Finally Find Out Who Keeps Rewatching Your Instagram Stories

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and so is an Instagram story. For digital natives, much thought goes into these posts, which are carefully designed and curated despite their shelf life of only 24 hours.

With that, there’s a certain curiosity about who watches your stories—more so, on how many times they’ve been watched repeatedly. Every rewatch could mean something more, and from a practical perspective, knowing who does so can help gauge engagement and identify which content resonates most.

It appears that the platform has recognized this as well, as it has begun testing a new feature aligned with this.

Instagram has begun rolling out Instagram Plus in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines. They have unveiled a handful of benefits that come with the subscription, and of course, these include the ability to see how many times your story has been rewatched. Some sources claim it might also state the specific accounts.

Subscribers will also have a search bar when checking their stories' analytics, so they can easily find who viewed them. There's also an option to spotlight your stories, which will make the platform treat them as a priority. That way, your followers can find them more easily.

Apart from these, users with Instagram Plus can also get a quick look or mini preview of other people's stories, which keeps them anonymous—they won't be counted in the viewer list. Subscribers can also extend their stories’ expiration for up to 48 hours.

For a more organized account, they can also create multiple story audiences, so specific content can be shared with select groups only. Think of it as multiple "Close Friends" lists. And finally, they can send "super hearts" under their friends' stories to show extra support.

Instagram currently offers a one-month free trial of Instagram Plus to let users experience these exclusive features. A subscription costs P65 per month.
