The Perks Of Spending Christmas In A Hotel

It's cold AF.

We’re not here to knock the whole idea of a traditional Filipino Christmas. If you prefer decking your house with parols and celebrating somewhere familiar—that’s beautiful. But if you want to change your routine a little, or just need a break from having to get your house Christmas-ready, here are a few reasons why you should consider spending Christmas in a hotel next year.

1. It’ll feel like winter in Manila.

We know, it’s not that hot here in December, but think about the sweltering heat in your house when your entire clan drops by. When you book a suite in a hotel, it usually has around three to five air conditioners to keep you chill—literally and figuratively. Plus, you get to layer your clothes. Can you imagine all the gorgeous OOTDs?

2. It’s probably cleaner than your house.

It’s already clean. You won’t have to tidy the place up for guests. And later on, you won’t have to worry about cleaning up after yourself, although we don’t advocate leaving stains on their rugs or carpets. At the end of the night, when you’re drunk and tired, you can just PTFO.

3. It’s luxurious.

Everyone knows that hotel beds are magic—they even make sex way better. Also, if you don’t feel like waking up early, you won’t have to. Those curtains are heavy-duty sun blockers so you can sleep in (until checkout time). Hotels also have robes, so yeah, you don’t have to wear actual clothes until it’s time to take family portraits. And don’t even get us started on bathtubs.

4. It’s Instagram-worthy!

Think about it. Have you ever been to a hideous hotel? Sure, some hotels are prettier than others; and some hotels have weird designs that don’t exactly fit your taste, but they are never ugly. Hotels are meant to be photographed, and Christmas is all about whipping out your selfie sticks and taking advantage of the gorgeous backdrops. Btw, most hotels have Christmas trees in their lobbies, and they are exquisite!

5. It’s probably near a mall.

If you need a break from family—hey, it happens—you can always drive or walk to the nearest mall for some time alone. It’s the perfect way to catch a breather!
