Batulao came from the words batong dilaw; this is because the mountain turns yellow or gold during sunrise. Though definitely beginner-friendly, Batulao also has its challenging stages. Let’s just say, you might have to hug the mountain a couple of times on your way up. Once you reach the peak, you’ll be rewarded with a full view of Cavite and Batangas as well as other mountains like Mt. Talamitan and Pico de Loro.
This climb doesn’t have to take over your entire weekend. Grab your barkada and make it a day trip! And if you’re worried about your budget, it’s one of the cheapest climbs out there. Most blogs claim to have spent less than P1,000, all expenses included. Of course, if you book this climb with a mountaineering group, it’ll be pricier, but you’ll also be well taken care of.
