Mariya Takahashi Wins A SEA Games Gold Medal In Judo For The Philippines

The 18-year-old Pinay won a gold medal in the women's under 70-kilogram division!

Mariya Takahashi, an 18-year-old judoka who represented the Philippines in the women's under 70-kilogram division for Judo in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, successfully wins another gold for the Philippines!

She defended her SEA Games Judo title after beating Surattana Thongsri from Thailand at the LausGroup Event Centre, Pampanga on December 6.

Other Filipino-Japanese athtletes who won gold medals for the Philippines in Judo are Kiyomi Watanabe in the women's 63-kilogram division and Shugen Nakano in the men's 66-kilogram division.

This is Mariya's second gold in the multi-sport event, following her first in the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia.
