You Can Name A Cockroach After Your Ex For Valentine's Day

Nothing says closure like roaching your ex.

This Valentine’s Day, you can get some shady, shady closure over your ex and give back to the animals.

The Bronx Zoo in New York City will let you name a cockroach—one of their Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches to be exact—after a loved one, or as many do, an ex-loved one.

For a mere $10 donation to the Bronx Zoo (around P500) you get full naming rights to one of the zoo’s roaches. This pledge also comes with an official naming certificate, which you can frame, burn or casually post on your ex’s Facebook wall for all to see.

If you’re feeling spendy, throw in $35 (around P1,800) to get a plush cockroach included in the package. To treat yourself even more, $50 will get you all of that and a box of chocolates. Revenge really is sweet.

You don’t have to live in NYC to enact your vindictive plot—The Bronx Zoo provides digital certificates through an online portal that automatically notifies your “Valentine” of their new insect namesake.

Each and every cockroach donation goes towards the health and upkeep of the zoo’s animals. It’s also incredibly therapeutic, because nothing says closure like roaching your ex.
