It's so annoying when you're single and everybody's all, "It'll happen when you stop trying, don't try so hard, just enjoy being free and hanging out with your friends!" and you're like, "My vagina is a cobweb." But I guess it's true! Ugh, sorry.
Mic.com conducted a study of 2,000 people from 18 to 35 on how they met their partners, and found that 38.6 percent of people still meet through friends. The second two most common ways to meet someone, at 22.3 percent and 17.9 percent, are at "a social setting" or at work, respectively. Only then does it trickle down to dating sites such as PlentyOfOKCupidTinderFish.org, at 9.4 percent.
But that's not the only case for having friends (LOL): 40 percent of the people said their relationship began as a platonic one. Word.
