Ronnie, then a member of Hashtags, gathered the courage after the show to ask Loisa if they could grab a meal together.

"Wala namang reason para hindian.. Di ko rin alam kung bakit ako pumayag. Siguro kung iba 'yun, di rin ako papayag. Pero dahil si Ronnie 'yun, pumayag ako," Loisa recalled.

She also admitted that she had a crush on Ronnie back when she was still new to GirlTrends, never imagining that the two of them would grow close. Soon enough, the pair sparked dating rumors after sharing sweet moments on Instagram, which only fueled curiosity among fans.

Over time, their bond deepened especially as they continued to work together as a love team in teleseryes and films, including the horror-comedy, Da One That Ghost Away.

Despite the Internet's growing speculation about their real score, Ronnie maintained that he and Loisa were not in a relationship. In an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda, he clarified that what they had was purely platonic, stressing that they were simply close friends and nothing more.

"Agree naman ako sa sinabi niya na focus muna kami ngayon sa opportunities na meron kami and 'yung love life nandiyan lang 'yan. Enjoy muna kaming dalawa," Loisa said.

It was never officially clear when they first became a couple, but when Ronnie and Loisa confirmed their relationship in 2018, they revealed they had already been together for two years, pointing back to 2016. 

Their confirmation happened in one of the most spontaneous ways a celebrity could reveal something so personal—by being caught off guard. "Sa totoo lang, aminin ko. Mali ako. Kasi 'yung mga nakatrabaho ko dati at ‘yung mga nakasama ko dati, hindi ko nilinaw sa kanila at hindi ko sinabi sa kanila na kami ni Loisa. Tinago ko din sa mga naging ka-partner ko," he disclosed.

He clarified that his accountability was directed at his lack of honesty at the time, and he also asked fans not to blame or attack the women previously linked to him: "Yun lang ang nililinaw ko na ngayon ko lang sinabi, na ako 'yung may mali doon. Sa mga fans, huwag niyo [sila] iba-bash 'yung mga babae na na-link sa akin dati kasi hindi nila alam. Kasalanan ko 'yun," he added.

Ronnie did not specify timelines or detail the extent of the situation. Loisa, however, hinted that the issues they worked through may have happened more than once—her own interpretation of their past challenges. Ronnie only emphasized that he has learned from those experiences and is committed to not repeating them.

"Nung [nagkahiwalay kami], sobrang sakit pala nung feeling na ganun... Tinake ko 'yun as karma kasi ang dami kong kasalanan sa kanya before pa mangyari 'yun. Ang dami na niyang nahuli sa akin… nahuli niya ako. So naramdaman ko 'yung feeling kung gaano kasakit yung ganung pakiramdam," Ronnie said.

Loisa did not deny how deeply the infidelity hurt her. However, she shared that she chose to accept what happened and forgive Ronnie for cheating on her.

"Kasi [yung forgiveness], para sa atin din naman 'yun e. Pag pinatawad natin yung tao, magkakaroon tayo ng peace sa sarili natin. And in fairness naman sa kanya, deserving naman siya,” she said.

"Yung point na inamin niya yung pagkakamali niya, 'yun yung malaking bagay... So mas mahirap patawarin yung mga huling huli mo na, todo deny pa. Pero siya aminado siya, at hindi na niya uulitin, eh ‘di okay tayo," she added. 

The couple celebrated their 8th anniversary, and this time, Ronnie made it clear to the public that he is fully committed to Loisa and content in their relationship. 

During an interview with Anne Cerezo, Ronnie said that Loisa is definitely his "endgame," though he clarified that settling down is not yet on the immediate horizon. He emphasized that they are focusing on their careers and building their future together.

"Kami ni Loisa, enjoy kami, focused kami sa trabaho, makapag-ipon at makapag-invest pa. Eight years na kami this year. Kung mahal mo tao dapat may plano kayo, kung wala, maghiwalay na kayo," Ronnie said.
