2018 was a great year for the local beauty industry: A lot of amazing local beauty products came out, and more Pinays began to favor Philippine-made items to cater to their skincare, makeup, and hair care needs.

What we love about this P-beauty boom: We have a lot of high-quality products to choose from at an affordable price; most of them are even comparable to other international and popular beauty brands, prompting our balikbayan relatives to bug us to shop the items for them so they can try it!

Scroll below to see our roundup of the best local beauty brands and collabs so far:

MAKEUP

Ever Bilena x Kris Aquino Collection

The Queen of All Media launched a makeup line with the local beauty giant earlier this year. It initially included two matte lipsticks and two eyebrow pencils, but since then three new products joined the line: liquid lipsticks, powder foundations, and blushes!

Happy Skin x Kath Bernardo Collection

Kathryn's collab with Happy Skin was sold out during its first release. The collection was composed of beauty basics any Pinay could use daily. Also, how can you resist the pretty pastel packaging, right?

Sunnies Face

To say that Sunnies Face broke the internet is an understatement. The Georgina Wilson, Martine Ho, Jess Wilson, and Bea Soriano-Dee-led beauty brand was one of the most hyped up brands of 2018, and for good reason. Their Fluffmatte lippies were creamy and lightweight on the lips, and they each came in a sleek, minimalist tube. P.S. They recently launched a set of highlighter sticks that look like pretty crayons!

HAIR

Beach Born

It all started with a bottle of Sea Salt Spray. Pinays loved how it held curls, and how it gave their hair a beach babe look. Now, they've grown their lineup to Purple Shampoo + Conditioner, hair care bars, and skincare products, too!

CLASSIC

Human Nature

A list about local beauty brands is incomplete without Human Nature. Their all-natural skin, hair, makeup, and body products are cruelty-free and don't cost a ton! Another thing we love about them is they give back to the community by employing Gawad Kalinga residents and adopting work policies which help their employees have work-life balance.
