Now that Itaewon Class has officially wrapped up, Park Seo Joon can officially bid his iconic coconut/chestnut hairstyle goodbye. The actor transformed his look to get the same hairstyle his character had on the famous webtoon that the drama was based on.
He first debuted his coconut/chestnut hair on Instagram back in October:
When he came to Manila for his fan meet in September, he already sported noticeably shorter hair—much shorter than his signature thick locks—but his bangs where swept away from his face. It was a #blessed day for us PSJ fans. (This was also when we got to ask him what we thought about being called as the "Ryan Gosling of Asia.")
According to his hair transformation vlog on his YouTube account, he got the haircut in August 2019—before filming for Itaewon Class started. His cut became so iconic because of the show, that a lot of people started asking for the Park Saeroyi haircut in Korea. However, Seo Joon actually doesn’t recommend the style because it’s so high-maintenance. Apparently, he has to get his hair trimmed every four days to keep it clean!
Yesterday, Seo Joon debut his ~*new look*~, describing it as a ~*pineapple haircut*~ through emojis. Behold:
It’s honestly giving us early 2000s spiky hair vibes but better. What can we say? Gwapo talaga siya kahit anong look!
Just a little throwback of his longer locks:
