When it comes to makeup, Elisse Joson is known to consistently sport dewy and glowing skin. That's why we got all excited when her makeup artist, Mark Qua, made a special appearance on her YouTube channel to reveal his pro (yet totally doable) secrets to achieving Elisse's signature ~fresh~ look.

(Bonus: Mark's funny terms make this tutorial far from boring, and Loisa Andalio and McCoy de Leon do a cameo!)

Here are some of our takeaways:

  1. Prep the skin before anything else.

Mark massaged Elisse's face with a beauty oil to promote blood circulation.

  2. You don't need to own expensive brushes.

Mark applied a thin layer of foundation and concealer with just his hands to create a natural-looking finish. According to him, the warmth of his fingers makes the products blendable.

  3. Set your complexion with a sheer powder.

Again, Mark is all about emphasizing the real texture of the skin, so he sets the foundation with a veil of sheer illuminating powder.

  4. Go for a subtle contour.

If you're contouring with cream products, make sure to blend it out properly with your fingers to avoid streaks.

  5. Apply shimmery eyeshadow on your lids.

For pretty, wide-awake eyes, dab a rose gold cream eyeshadow on your lids and curl the lashes with mascara.

  6. Bring out the glow with an intense highlighter.

Of course, a glowing makeup can't be complete without a blinding highlighter. Mark dusted some on the top of Elisse's cheekbones to light up her face.

  7. Don't forget to define the jawline and nose.

Elisse is often exposed to harsh studio lights, so Mark adds definition and shape with a matte contouring powder on the jawline and noseline.

  8. Frame the face with lush eyebrows.

For born-with-it full kilay, draw feathery strokes on the sparse areas with a brow pomade and bulk up each strand with a brow mascara. He also followed Elisse's natural arch.
