Kathryn Bernardo's first collaboration with local beauty brand Happy Skin was a huge success. The Generation Happy Skin line was always sold out, and fans and beauty enthusiasts couldn't seem to get enough of it. This is why we weren't surprised when Kath and Happy Skin worked together again for a second collection: the Generation Happy Skin Active line.
The Generation Happy Skin Active products were made to withstand intense sweat sessions—literally all the workouts and cardio sessions you can think of. The collection is composed of cream blushes, eyeshadow sticks, lip and cheek tints, and matte lippies—essentials you need to look extra cute during workouts and when you take a post-workout selfie!
Since Kath is into indoor cycling, we're pretty sure the whole collection was tried and tested in an *extreme* environment. But of course, we had to try everything for ourselves to see if the products could live up to their claims! Find out if they did below:
Tisha
Type of workout: Barre3
Products used:
- Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint in Focus (bright red), P299, Lazada
- Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Stick in Flex (warm matte brown), P399, Lazada
- My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippie in Limitless (rosy pink), P399, Lazada
- On-The-Go Blush Lightweight Cheek Stick in Glowing (medium rose), P399, Lazada

First impressions:
- Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint in Focus - I was surprised at how soothing this formula felt on my lips and cheeks. I like how it instantly gave my features a soft wash of color.
- Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Stick in Flex - I've tried a lot of eyeshadow sticks in the past and this was one of the least creamy formulas I've used. My fingers were useless; I had to use a brush to get the pigment to evenly coat my lids.
- My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippie in Limitless - I didn't like the size of the lipstick's bullet—it's smaller than I'm used to, so I had to swipe it multiple times on certain parts of my lips. The color, however, was really beautiful and didn't make me look washed out!
- On-The-Go Blush Lightweight Cheek Stick in Glowing - This blush was so creamy and blendable! One swipe and a few taps on each cheek instantly gave me a pretty flush.
Generation Happy Skin Active by Kathryn Bernardo: What do I think of the products?
When I attended my Barre3 class with a full face of makeup, I felt self-conscious at first because I never wear makeup while working out. But since I'd be sweating a ton in the class, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to test how well the products would hold up against sweat, oil, and water.
After the 10-minute warm-up, I went to my barre to drink water. The first thing I noticed while looking in the mirror was the Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Stick had already disappeared from my eyelids. I thought it would have lasted longer if its formula was emollient.
After one hour of intense sweating and drinking water, I examined my face to see how well the makeup held up. The My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippie didn't make it, most likely because it transferred to the rim of my water bottle. The Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint, on the other hand, still provided my puckers with a sheer, cherry stain. As for the On-The-Go Blush Lightweight Cheek Stick? It was still there! I was equal parts proud and shocked by its lasting power because throughout the class I rubbed my towel all over my face (Nothing transferred at all!).
Overall, I loved the cheek stick and the lip and cheek tint and can't wait to use them again. However, I think the formulas of the eyeshadow and lipstick could still be improved.

Type of workout: HIIT and Weight-training
Products used:
- Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint in Breathe (orange red), P299, Lazada
- Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Stick in Fit (peachy brown), P399, Lazada
- My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippie in Energy (warm medium rose), P399, Lazada
- On-The-Go Blush Lightweight Cheek Stick in Flushed (warm rosy pink), P399, Lazada

First impressions:
- Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint in Breathe - I was surprised to see how pigmented this formula was. It settled to an orange red with a satin finish on my lips after a few seconds.
- Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Stick in Fit - This was a bit difficult to apply on the lids because the formula wasn't creamy. I assumed it was because a) It came in a matte formula, and b) It was a preview that it was budge-proof. I was delighted when I saw the color payoff! It looked super subtle and defined my chinita eyes.
- My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippie in Energy - I layered this over the lip and cheek tint, and I'm glad the two shades created a pretty lip color!
- On-The-Go Blush Lightweight Cheek Stick in Flushed - I just swiped the blush stick on my cheeks and blended it with my fingers. The result: A post-workout flush without me having to lift a muscle!
Generation Happy Skin Active by Kathryn Bernardo: What do I think of the products?
I'm not going to lie, I am used to wearing a bit of makeup when working out. I usually fill in my brows, put on a cheek tint, and apply tinted lip balm. (I find that looking extra cute motivates me to exercise.) This challenge, though, involved eye makeup. It was odd to see my eyelids with a wash of color while I was doing bicep curls—LOL!
Halfway through my workout, my face was sweating profusely. I was worried about possibly having "panda eyes," so I did a quick mirror check. The good news? Nothing smudged in my eye area. The bad news? It's because the Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Stick color was already gone. Yikes.
I drank water during breaks, so I expected my lipstick to fade. I didn't mind it, though. The Generation Happy Skin Active My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippie kept my lips pillowy-soft! Before, my pout would normally get dry and flaky post-workout. I guess I won't be having that problem anymore.
As for my cheeks, I almost LOL-ed when I saw my face in the bathroom mirror. I always found it normal to see my face a bit red after exercising, but this time, it was extremely red. I knew it wasn't because of the HIIT drills. I could tell that the On-The-Go Blush Lightweight Cheek Stick stayed on because I haven't seen my cheeks this flushed after a workout.

Generation Happy Skin Active by Kathryn Bernardo: Are the items worth buying?
The On-The-Go Blush Lightweight Cheek Sticks and the Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tints are definitely worth purchasing—they last really well and work just as amazing as their high-end counterparts! These are the two products we'd gladly wear both in and out of the gym.
As for the Easy Eyes Crease-Proof Eyeshadow Sticks and My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippies? Well, we wouldn't use them again during a workout, but we'd still wear them if we're having a girls' night out or going to work!
