I mentioned a few months back that I've been skipping foundation for my everyday makeup looks. But since I discovered this new foundation, I've been wearing it every time I go to the office or events. I even wear it on weekend dates. Read on to find out why I'm obsessed with the MAC Cosmetics Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation that's P2,600 on Lazada.

What's to love with the MAC Cosmetics Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation?

The MAC Cosmetics Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation is a weightless, 24-hour hydrating foundation with buildable coverage. The formula helps that smooth texture, even out tone, and blur the look of pores. It's dermatologist-tested and non-comedogenic. It's also safe for sensitive skin.

My honest review of the MAC Cosmetics Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation

It's been a while since I've used foundation, so I was pretty excited when I first tried it. When I first saw how the MAC Studio Radiance Foundation was used during the launch, I knew in my gut that it would be so different from the Studio Fix Foundation I grew up with. During the product demo, makeup artist RB Chanco used her hands to press the product onto Cassy Legaspi's skin. The end result was glowy skin with just enough coverage.

I used the MAC Studio Radiance foundation the next day. To prep my skin, I applied Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion, Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum, and Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen. I let all these layers get absorbed by my skin before buffing in the foundation. Since the MAC Studio Radiance foundation already has hydrating serum in it, I skipped my dailies: hyaluronic acid serum and Bobbi Brown Enriched Face Base

I used a dense face brush to distribute the foundation evenly to my skin. I apply cream blush, and spritz with MAC Prep Prime Fix to set everything. I sealed the base with a light-reflecting powder. (Note: I only used two drops for my whole face, and painted light layers on my skin.)

The end result was really glowy, and it kind of reminded me of what my skin looks like when I use cushion compacts (dewy, medium coverage). The real test happens is how long it would last, and its finish after hours of wear. Some friends straight up asked what foundation I was using because they wanted the same dewy finish on their skin!

I did my makeup at around 8 a.m., and got back home at around 9 p.m. I checked in the bathroom before I double-cleansed, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it didn't have a cakey or patchy texture! The coverage was still there but it had slowly faded into a tinted moisturizer finish (sheer).

After a full week of testing it out, the only time I didn't like how it settled onto my pores was during the time I used a rich moisturizer underneath and a baked face powder to set. When layered with these products, the finish was cakey and it emphasized my skin texture. If you use the MAC Studio Radiance Foundation, I highly suggest skipping thick moisturizers and baked face powders. The foundation's formula is already hydrating so you don't need that much richness in texture. The baked powder was probably the culprit of its cakey finish.

Whenever I keep my a.m. skincare routine the bare minimum, I find that this was the time the MAC Studio Radiance Foundation looked best. This was formulated for girls who want glowing, honey skin without that much-needed prep!

MAC artists advise that you get two shades lighter than what you usually get when you buy  their foundations. I'm usually an NC25, but for the MAC Studio Radiance, I was an NC15. I couldn't believe it at first. But NC15 was a perfect match. I recommend that you get yourself swatched in-store just be sure!
