Because red lipstick looks good on everyone, it has endured every possible beauty trend you can think of. So it's only natural that for this edition of Cosmo.ph Beauty Wars, we paid homage to the classic hue by trying out reds of different formulas and price points.

Bench Paintbox 24-Hour Lip Tattoo in Red
Where To Buy: Bench.com.ph
What It Is: One coat of this liquid lipstick is all you need for it to be transfer-proof and water-resistant!
Why We Love It: We didn't know what to expect from Bench's cosmetics line, but this was a pleasant surprise—true to its claims, this lipstick, which actually has the consistency of a lip stain, didn't budge throughout the day—and when it was time for us to remove it, we had to use an oil cleanser!
Slay Colors Creamy Matte Lipstick in Monroe
Where To Buy: Slaycolors.com
What It Is: Inspired by the iconic Marilyn Monroe, this velvety matte lippie is all you need to look red carpet-ready wherever you go.
Why We Love It: Of all the red lipsticks we tried, this was the most matte—basically, it was also the most drying. But if we wanted to wear a non-glossy red lip color and were on a budget, this would no doubt be our pick!
Clinique Pop Matte Lip Color + Primer in Ruby Pop
Where To Buy: Rustan's Department Stores, SM Megamall, SM North Edsa
What It Is: Unlike other lippies, this one comes with a built-in primer to smooth out your lips while the color effortlessly glides over it.
Why We Love It: It was so easy to apply—seriously, no tugging needed—and it lasted for a good amount of time considering it wasn't ~*completely*~ matte.
Estee Lauder Envy Liquid Lip Potion in Lethal Red
Where To Buy: Rustan's Department Stores, SM Megamall, SM Aura
What It Is: A liquid lipstick and lip gloss hybrid, it saturates your pout with intense color and provides it with long-lasting moisture while looking flawless for eight hours.
Why We Love It: The pigment was intense AF and it looked ~perfect~ when we applied it. But because of its hydrating formula, we were so worried it would move to our teeth. Our solution? We just set it with some translucent powder!
