With all the different types of skincare products available, it can be overwhelming to decide which ones to incorporate into your routine. A fairly new but already well-loved K-beauty product is the tone-up cream, which is known for, well, “toning up” the skin.
Curious about what it is and how it works? Here’s a quick rundown on and a few recommended tone-up creams:
What is a tone-up cream?
A tone-up cream is a special kind of moisturizer that brightens and evens out the complexion. It’s usually formulated with brightening ingredients like niacinamide and fruit extracts, providing both instant and long-term benefits. It’s meant to be the last step of your skincare routine (if it already has SPF).
Why is it perfect for oily skin?
It has a thin and lightweight formula that applies well on oily skin. A lot of tone-up creams are also multi-purpose (they may already have powder and/or sunscreen), which means you apply fewer layers of product on your skin. Also, since it evens out the skin tone, you may end up using fewer makeup base products as well.
