In a translated interview via Soompi, Hyo Seop spoke very highly of his co-stars Han Seok Kyu and Sung Kyung, and even revealed that it was kinda "awkward" between him and Sung Kyung when they first started working together!
"The relationship between us was awkward at first. I worried a lot about that, but overall it was helpful for the progression of the story. [Our characters] Eun Jae and Woo Jin are very awkward around each other at first, so it helped," Hyo Seop shared. "Lee Sung Kyung is overflowing with energy, so she gives me strength when I'm tired. She took care of me in subtle ways and we had a lot of fun filming."
Aww, that sure sounds like Sung Kyung!
Hyo Seop also talked about the pressure they had to face because Dr. Romantic's first season did so well three years ago, in 2016.
"For one thing, there was an 'original' we had to live up to, and for another, we had only changed a few key members of the cast, so there was obviously going to be a comparison. It would be a lie to say we didn't feel the pressure. My body felt the weight of that pressure the most. But I think I was able to change that pressure into anticipation and give myself positive energy for filming."
In the show, Hyo Seop and Sung Kyung play the roles of two new doctors recruited by Teacher Kim (Han Seok Kyu) to work at Doldam Hospital. Cha Eun Jae (Sung Kyung) is a cheerful but secretive cardiothoracic surgeon and Seo Woo Jin (Hyo Seop) is a cynical general surgeon with a troubled past.
