Celeb sisters Assunta and Alessandra De Rossi are known to be thick as thieves. In fact, in a new interview on I Feel U, the younger De Rossi described her ate as her ~partner-in-crime~. "Masaya ako na yung years na na-form ako, ang kasama ko ay siya," Alex said in the interview, according to ABS-CBN. "Balanse yung pagkasiraulo niya and pagkamabait niya. She's my partner-in-crime. Kapag nauna si ate, next ka na. Pero kapag hindi ginawa ni Assunta, wala akong gagawin na ganun."
Their relationship has always been strong, more so when the going got tough for her ate in recent years. It's public knowledge that Assunta and her husband Jules Ledesma have been trying to get pregnant for 19 years, and their "miracle baby" was finally conceived last year when they least expected it. On October 23, 2020, they welcomed a healthy baby girl, Giulia Fiorentina Alessandra.
In the same interview, Assunta revealed that she had gone through an unsuccessful in vitro fertilization back in 2016. "We were trying for so many years na, parang sabi ko nahihirapan na ako," she said of their struggles.
Alex then shared that she stepped up for her ate and presented the idea that she be the surrogate of Assunta and Jules' baby. "Nung nagpa-IVF siya tapos hindi nag-work, may dalawa pa siyang eggs na natitira. Tapos sabi niya, 'Ayaw ko na siya pagdaanan. Ayaw ko na pagdaanan yung feeling.' Sabi ko, 'Gusto mo ba ako ang magdala? Wala din naman akong direksyon sa buhay,'" she said.
Although serious about her offer, her ate took it lightheartedly and laughed it off: "Willing na akong gawin 'yon para sa kanya ng walang bayad. Willing ako pero tinawanan lang niya ako. So hindi ko alam kung kinonsider ba niya in her head."
Alex also gave more insights about Assunta being a new mom—like the fact Alex was one of the first people to know about Assunta's pregnancy but had to keep it a secret because she couldn't "trust her [sister's] body." She also said she didn't cry when she got the big news of the pregnancy but she finally got emotional when she saw photos of her ate holding her baby in the delivery room. Aww!
But the thing Alex is most proud about Assunta is her being a hands-on mom to baby Giulia: "Grabe yung turnaround kasi siya yung tipo ng tao na—prinsesa kasi iyan. Lumaki siya na yung mga bagay ginagawa lahat para sa kanya. Wala siya masyadong gagawin. Nung naging mommy na, ang hands-on na. Biglang naging mommy talaga siya. Ito yung Assunta na papalakpakan natin siya."
