It's official: BLACKPINK is back and bigger than ever because they are *finally* getting their first full-length album! Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the four-piece girl group will be making their much-awaited comeback in June. But apparently their comeback will be in ~three parts~, as reported by Soompi.
YG Entertainment revealed that BLACKPINK's comeback will start in June and end in September. Here's how their three-part comeback will look like: 1. A pre-release title track and music video are scheduled for mid-June, 2. A second song will be dropped in July or August, and 3. BLACKPINK's first full-length album will be released in September.
Read YG's full statement below:
"BLACKPINK has finished recording more than 10 new songs and has completed production for their first studio album.
"BLACKPINK's first new song, which will be released in mid-June, is a pre-release title track. The BLACKPINK members are currently preparing to film the music video for the song, and they are currently picking up the pace of their final preparations, including practicing their new choreography.
"The second new song, which is a special kind of a new song, is scheduled for a release in July or August.
"As it's a first studio album that [BLACKPINK] has been preparing for a long time, we hope to create more opportunities for the group to greet fans through performances and other content than any year before through a three-step, multi-phased release."
BLACKPINK's last comeback was in April 2019 with the release of their second EP Kill This Love. Apart from their new album, they're also expected to be featured on Lady Gaga's upcoming album Chromatica in the song "Sour Candy".
Yup, it sure looks like 2020 is a HUGE year for BP!
