ICYDK, the Hot 100 "blends all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay, and sales data," as stated by Billboard. And according to Nielsen Music and MRC data, in its first week of release, "Dynamite" was streamed 33.9 million times and sold 300,000 times. It also scored 11.6 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week that ended on August 30. But that's not all! "Dynamite" sold 265,000 downloads, which happens to be the biggest digital sales week since Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" launched with 353,000 in September 2017. (via Forbes)

BTS is also the first all-Korean act to achieve this milestone. In 2012, PSY landed on number two at the Hot 100 for "Gangnam Style". But it was in 1963 when the first Asian ranked at the top spot: Japanese-born artist Kyu Sakamoto with "Sukiyaki". It should also be noted that the Far*East Movement, a hip-hop and EDM group with two members of Korean heritage, took the number one spot with "Like A G6" in 2010.

So far, BTS has had four singles to land in the Top 10 of the Hot 100: "Dynamite" (number one, August 2020), "ON" (number four, March 2020), "Boy With Luv" featuring Halsey (number eight, April 2019), and "Fake Love" (number 10, June 2018).

BTS comes fresh from their debut at the MTV Video Music Awards where they performed "Dynamite" and won all four awards they were nominated for: Best Choreography, Best Pop Video, Best K-Pop, and Best Group.

Wow, 2020 is legit the most explosive year for BTS, and we just cannot wait to see what else they can achieve. BORAHAE!
