If you loved the 2016 zombie hit Train To Busan, then you’ll be pleased to find out that a sequel is coming very soon!
The upcoming movie, entitled Bando, or literally “Peninsula,” takes place four years after the events of Train To Busan.
According to a report, Bando’s premise is that the Korean peninsula became uninhabitable following the zombie takeover in the first film. Pockets of humans survived the ordeal, but they are waiting without any certainty when help will come.
Bando stars Kang Dong Won as Jung Suk, Lee Jung Hyun as Min Jung, child actress Lee Rae as Yoon Yi, Kwon Hae Hyo as Kim Noh In, the oldest surviving member of Min Jung’s group, and Kim Min Jae and Goo Kyo Hwan.
The film will be directed by Yeon Sang Ho, who said in an August 2018 interview, “It is an extension of Train To Busan after the virus has spread throughout Korea, but the characters are not the same. It shares the same world view and is a zombie action film that deals with the aftermath on the peninsula of what happened in Train To Busan.”
Filming has already started on June 24. For now, here’s a teaser image of what kind of tone we should expect for the upcoming zombie flick:
