Published on Sep 21, 2025
The Internet never misses a beat—from the juiciest trends to the messiest scandals to the biggest political shake-ups, everyone's got an opinion. But this time, it's not just the people chiming in. Celebrities are joining the convo, too, and they're making sure their voices are heard loud and clear.
In the unlikely event you missed it, trillions of peso have allegedly gone MIA due to flawed (and corrupt) government officials who handled flood control projects. The exposé has people fired up—especially after back-to-back floods wreaked havoc in various provinces, as well as all over Metro Manila.
In response, various organizations are putting up protest actions today, September 21, in Luneta Park and at the EDSA People Power Monument in the hopes of inducing change and reform. Below, we've rounded up the celebrities who are sharing support for this valuable cause:
Celebritis React To Flood Control Issue In The Philippines
Anne Curtis & Jasmine Curtis-Smith
Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis-Smith are not just sisters who share the same love for their craft as actresses—they have a deep love for their country too.
Case in point: On September 20, 2025, Anne shared a photo of a plaque awarded to her for being one of the top taxpaying media personalities. Her post came with a callout against the government and an invitation for the people to join the upcoming protests.
"Bilang mga taxpayers it allows us to ask an important question: Saan ba talaga napupunta ung taxes natin lahat? [...] I DO BELIEVE in paying taxes—when they're used for the growth of our nation, the betterment of our communities, and most importantly, in support of our fellow Filipinos who need the extra hand," Anne wrote in her caption.

She continued, "It's time we use our voices to END CORRUPTION in our country para sa mga anak natin at para sa future generation of Filipinos. See you tomorrow! ✊🏽"
Jasmine shared Anne's post on Facebook and encouraged everyone by saying, "See you tomorrow!"
More celebs also commented on Anne's post, agreeing and supporting Anne's words on the ongoing issue.

Vice Ganda
Vice Ganda has always been vocal about her beliefs in life and in politics—and she continues to share them with the public.
Earlier this month, when the flood control issue riled up the country, Vice made statements on national television, talking about corruption.
"Ang korapsyon ay hindi lamang pagnanakaw ng salapi ng bayan. Ito ang pagnanakaw ng pag-asa, ito ay pagnanakaw ng pangarap, at ito ang pagnanakaw ng magandang posibilidad. Ang dami nang namatay dahil sa pagnanakaw niyo ng pondo ng bayan," she proclaimed on the September 11 episode of It's Showtime.
Come September 20, Vice bravely posted on Instagram, calling out to everyone to join the protests. In one of her IG Stories, she wrote, "Ninakawan ka. Tinarantado ka. Pinahirapan ka. Tatahimik ka? Wala ng mawawala sayo. Ubos ka na. Pero may mababawi ka. Kung titindig ka. Halika na. Sasamahan ka namin. EDSA. Luneta."

Iza Calzado
Iza Calzado took her grievances over the corruption reports over to her Instagram. As she revealed, despite her being in England at the moment, her heart bleeds for the Filipino people.
"Hindi ko alam anong sasabihin at gagawin ko. Tulad ng marami, nadurog ang puso ko. Nagalit. Natawa sa ibang memes at post. Nagalit muli sa karagdagang mga balita. Ang hirap dahil wala ako sa Pilipinas at malayo ako," Iza expressed in her IG post.
She noted how disheartened she is because of the news back at home—even sharing some photos with her family felt wrong at the moment.

David Licauco
David Licauco is showing up for the cause, too. Word is, he's pausing operations in his businesses on September 21 so his employees can join the protests.
He shared a report about it on his official Facebook page with the emoji, "🙏🏻" as if to signify approval and support for the cause.
Sarah Geronimo
Sarah Geronimo made her stance crystal clear on September 19, standing with the people. During her "Ikot-ikot" performance at the opening night of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, the Popstar Royalty exclaimed, "Parang panloloko sa bansa natin, pinaikot-ikot lang tayo, tama na."
"Let us all be reminded na kayo—I don't want to put the pressure on you—ang ating mga kabataan, kayo ang pag-asa ng ating bansa, ng ating bayan. One day, kayo ang magbabago ng bulok na sistema ng bansang ito," she further called out on the UAAP audience that night.

Piolo Pascual
Piolo Pascual also shared his sentiments over what's happening right now in the country. "As a citizen, it's my job to be in the know. It's my job to know what's happening, not just to be updated, but to be in touch with what's happening in the nation," he said in an interview with the media, uploaded September 17, 2025.
When it was pointed out that he's also one of the top taxpayers in showbiz, he jokingly yet truthfully responded, "Kaya nga napakasakit. Meron akong tax na kailangang bayaran pero hindi ko mabayaran kasi parang—pambibili lang naman nila ng luxury goods, pambibiyahe lang naman nila—hindi, joke lang."
Piolo strongly expressed his frustration over the government's fiasco on the flood control projects. "Sana makonsensya sila, kasi saan mo pa ba dadalhin yung pera mo? Sana yung sapat ay sapat na. 'Wag mo nang nakawan yung mga tao, naghihirap na nga. Magkaroon tayo ng konsensya. Yun nalang ang sasabihin ko," Piolo concluded in the interview.
