Chie Filomeno Debunks Malicious Rumors About Her Personal Life With A New Statement

Chie Filomeno is putting her foot down. After being caught up in rumors about her past, the actress is firmly denying these malicious allegations. She reiterated that, while she may be a public figure, she's not "public property."

In a press statement obtained by Cosmopolitan Philippines, the actress "cleared the air" and emphasized that everything she has achieved is the result of her own hard work, contrary to the malicious speculations people have been sharing.

"My story began in our humble home in Kamuning. I started cosplaying and doing commercial modeling at the age of 11 to earn my own allowance," Chie disclosed.

She continued, "And eventually found my way into acting, performing, and becoming a social media influencer. By the time I was 15, I had officially become the sole provider for my family."

"Kaya masakit para sa akin at sa pamilya ko kapag may mga kwentong walang basehan na pinapalabas na kung anu-ano," she confessed. "Wala po itong katotohanan. Marangal po akong nagtatrabaho para sa mga minamahal ko."

ICYMI, Chie has been embroiled in speculations stemming from her rumored relationship with chef-entrepreneur Matthew Lhuillier, which allegedly overlapped with her recent relationship with her actor ex-boyfriend Jake Cuenca. Some people were too quick to throw judgment, alleging that she has "ill intentions" and using these rumors to question her character and integrity.

Chie had already addressed the issue, appealing to the public to stop dragging Matthew, Jake, or any of her past relationships into the matter.

However, the issue further sparked attention when the actress shared cryptic Instagram Stories, revealing that several influencers had reached out to her, claiming they were being offered payment to participate in a smear campaign against her on social media.

Chie described the malicious judgments against her as "unfair," especially given the heavy responsibility she carries as the main provider of her family, but went on to thank all the people who stood by her and allowed her to thrive in the industry.

"I'll always be grateful to all the brands, designers, partners, and supporters who continue to trust and believe in me. Every collaboration and opportunity reminds me that hard work and integrity will always matter more than noise," Chie said.

The actress went on to express gratitude for all her experiences, including her past relationships: "But now, I've found new connections and safe spaces that I want to protect from unnecessary attention. This time, I'm choosing peace and privacy. And when the time comes, you'll see what love looks like when it's nurtured quietly."
