College Fashionistas Shine At The UAAP Finals

Cosmo caught girls looking chic as they cheered for their schools in this intense battle on the basketball court, rain or shine.
Students, alumni, and supporters of the Ateneo de Manila University junior and senior Men's Basketball teams have TWO major reasons to party, as both teams emerged champs of their respective divisions in the UAAP today, October 8, at the Big Dome.

Both coming from a Game Two setback, the Blue Eagles to the University of The East Red Warriors and the Eaglets to the De La Salle Zobel team, the big men of the blue camp had to step up to ensure this year's TWO big victories. The Blue Eagles defended their crown with a 71-58 win over the Red Warriors, marking back-to-back championships for the team and coach Norman Black.

A cloudy and partly rainy Sunday afternoon did not keep UAAP basketball fans from filling the entire Araneta Coliseum on October 4, 2009, as they gathered to watch Game Two of the Finals bout between top-seeded Ateneo de Manila University and University of the East in men's basketball.

It proved to be an even cloudier day for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, as the UE Red Warriors managed to outshine them and win the game with a 20-point lead, at 88-68, forcing a third and last game today, October 8, that would ultimately decide this year’s collegiate basketball champion.

Leading the Red Warriors were Elmer Espiritu and Pari Llagas, who shot basket after basket to overpower Ateneo's big men, Rabbeh Al-Hussaini, Nonoy Baclao, and Jai Reyes.

The crowd at the Big Dome was a distinct blue and red, as Ateneo and UE supporters came in their school colors to cheer for the players. Cosmo was there, of course, to spot awesome girls who stood out with their flawless fashions, albeit the game's intensity and the dreary weather outside. These UAAP stylistas showed that the season or the crowd need not cramp one's style. And that's precisely what they shared with us when Cosmo asked them: “What’s your fashion tip for the stormy weather?”140
