Cosmo Online Hunk Arnold Van Opstal: How To Date A Baller

We're pleased to see you're loving our featured hunk for January! Find out how to get the attention of this gorgeous basketball player.

If we are to base it on your comments on our Facebook page and his Week 1 feature, we can definitely say you love our pick for January Cosmo Online Hunk, Arnold van Opstal! We'll make sure the wait for Week 2 is sooo worth it, as you browse through his second photo gallery and read the second part of his interview.

Fresh from his New Year's vacation at Boracay, Arnold now returns to Taft for his last term as an AB Economics freshman and more basketball training. So, for his second interview, we asked him about his plans for the year and the future, and squeezed in a few questions about girls and dating. While, sorry girls, he's recently changed his relationship status from single to "exclusively dating," it won't hurt to learn how to attract this 6'9"-tall De La Salle Green Archer, what he loves to do on the first date, and other topics that will allow you to get to know him better.

What are your resolutions for 2012?

I haven’t actually made any resolutions. But, for me to become a better player, first of all. Become stronger, more mature, I guess. Just become a better all-around person.

Over the years, what resolutions did you find most difficult to keep?

I guess, [for me to keep] my training up and my determination to push myself to the limit. That’s probably the hardest part, not to get lazy.

Can you tell us your biggest dream?

I wanna play basketball professionally. I love basketball and that’s what I wanna do.

What are the five wildest things on your bucket list?

Skydiving. Travel the world. Get a ski house for skiing. I guess I could try to visit space if ever it’s cheap--you know how they have those flights for like $300,000, and hopefully in the future it’ll get cheaper (laughs). And then for my fifth, probably do something really crazy, against the law type of thing (laughs), and try to get away with it.

What’s the most outrageous thing you’ve done to get a girl’s attention?

I guess when I played basketball once, I just sort of met a girl, then I wiped all my sweat on her. She was like grossed out--I guess I did that for attention. That’s about it (laughs). The girl’s all sweaty and I just hugged her and I didn’t let go.

What's the first thing you notice about a girl?

Physically, the first thing I notice is the face. And then, I guess the eyes and then the body. But when I get to meet them, their personality. I like humble girls, down-to-earth girls, who are pretty but not really cocky or something.

Describe your flirting style.

Probably just start a conversation and just go from there, that’s how I work.

Tell us what would make a great first date.

Probably going to the movies would be a classic for me. Or having dinner, yeah that’s a really good thing. Or watching DVDs at home, with pizza, that’d be good.

If you were to take a girl out for the first time, what kind of restaurant would you pick?

Probably I would choose something fancy. Somewhere there’s steak, a steak house.

What would it take for you to ask her out on a second date?

Well, just basically the personality part. If I like her personality, then I’ll be the one [who'll] ask her on a second date. So if she’s friendly, or if we like have a spark or a good connection, yeah.

How can a girl get to know the real you?

Probably by not being shy and just being herself, you know. Skip all the awkwardness, ‘cause sometimes it’s awkward; sometimes you have the awkward silence. Yeah, that’s about it.

Watch for his third batch of hot photos and interview next Wednesday, January 18!
