Content creator and mental health advocate Emmanuelle "Emman" Atienza was announced to have passed away by her family on October 24—yet the love, light, and joy she shared continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
At 19, Emman was often described as a ray of sunshine who radiated warmth not only at home but also within her circle of friends, the bouldering community, and the non-governmental organizations (NGO) she passionately volunteered for.
Family And Friends Remember Emman Atienza With Heartfelt Messages Of Love
Emman's mother, Felicia Atienza, made the heartbreaking announcement on Instagram. She shared her hope that even though her daughter has passed, the "compassion, courage, and kindness" Emman embodied would continue to live on through others.
"Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her own journey with mental health. Her authenticity helped so many feel less alone," Felicia shared.
Her sister, Elianah Atienza, also dedicated a heartfelt message to Emman, whom she promised to "co-create a better world" where their "future children could play and laugh" together.
"I miss you, Emman, with everything that I am and will ever be. I see you in the sunlight between the tree canopy and in the endless stars I know must be there, hidden by city lights," Elianah expressed.
"I hope this message reaches you wherever you are. Call me soon, okay?" she added.
Since her passing, Emman’s father, Kim "Kuya Kim" Atienza, has been reposting and sharing stories of tribute and heartfelt messages for his daughter. Recently, Kuya Kim announced that Emman would be coming home to the Philippines from Los Angeles, USA.
"Thank you so much for all the messages of comfort to the family. We may not be able to reply but we appreciate you all," Kim said.
"Details of the wake in Manila will follow. Emman will be home," he announced.
Influencers, celebrities, fans, and friends whose lives were touched by Emman have been commemorating her memory, both online and in person.
One of her friends, Stef Draper, shared how she and Emman had always been each other's confidants—especially during their early years of navigating visibility online—and how they eventually learned to embrace authenticity.
"You were misunderstood by many, but I always saw your heart. I remember how anxious we’d get after posting on social media—running around, screaming, then laughing about it, only to delete the post minutes later because we didn't feel beautiful enough," Stef remembered.
"We held ourselves to unrealistic standards, constantly comparing ourselves to others. But eventually, we learned to accept ourselves—realizing that perfection doesn't exist. The only way to truly feel whole was to let go of that idea, focus on our souls, and just try to be good people," she shared.
According to Stef, they had just reconnected a few weeks before Emman passed away. While it feels surreal, she's grateful that they found closure.
"This is your reminder: please be kind to everyone, because we never truly know what someone is going through. Check in on your friends and family—it can make all the difference," she added.
One of Emman's bouldering friends, Josh Cavanaugh, also shared a reminder to "always check in on friends" before it's too late. Like many others, he's still in disbelief over Emman's passing.
"You were such a light and only wanted the best for everyone, but who knew the pain you were hiding inside yourself. Since the first time you visited you changed my perspective on the world by being unapologetically fun," Josh disclosed.
"You seemed to be unaffected by the judgment of others and just messed around, bringing pure joy to me and everyone you encountered," he added.
Remembering Emman Atienza's Lasting Impact
In one way or another, Emman have made people smile by bringing genuine warmth and joy. One Race for Filipino, an NGO based in Manila, shared that Emman "was more than just a member," describing her as someone who genuinely radiated kindness, compassion, and positivity.
"She carried warmth and positivity wherever she went, inspiring us all to care and serve with love. As we share her memories, may we remember the light she brought into our lives and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind," the organization said.
The football community G8 Philippines also honored Emman by holding a moment of silence and applause before the U9 YFL semifinals.
"The whole nation, and many around the world, have been deeply moved by this loss. As a football community, we hope to raise awareness for mental health and remind our young players and families to always choose kindness, empathy, and care," G8 Philippines shared.
