LOOK: Janine Gutierrez Just Won Best Actress At The QCinema International Film Festival

Janine Gutierrez just won her first Best Actress award at the QCinema International Film Festival 2018.

The GMA-7 actress was recognized for her role in the movie Babae at Baril, where she plays a saleslady whose life changes after she discovers a gun at her doorstep. Her co-stars include Felix Roco and JC Santos, and the film was directed by Rae Red. It also won the Best Director award and Gender Sensitivity awards.

In an interview with PEP.ph, Janine shared, "Sobrang happy, sobrang thankful po ako sa mga taong naniwala, nagtiwala, at nagbigay ng parangal na ito, as in super thank you po!"

In August, her film with Benjamin Alves, Dagsin, was shortlisted as the Philippines' entry to the Oscars.

She's also working on the upcoming film If We Don't Make It with Paulo Avelino. One of her movie projects as well for 2019 was the romance movie Elise, opposite Enchong Dee.

Babae at Baril is showing in cinemas until October 22.
