Julia Barretto Speaks Up: 'Wala akong inagawan ng boyfriend, wala akong inahas, at wala rin akong nilandi'

Julia talks about the Gerald-Bea-Joshua issue in a new interview!

Julia Barretto just set the record straight about the controversy involving her, Gerald Anderson, Bea Alonzo, and Joshua Garcia in an interview with ABS-CBN News yesterday. The actress was interviewed at the volleyball training session for the All-Star Games on Sunday, where her team will compete against Kim Chiu’s team.

First up, what’s the real deal between Julia and Gerald? “Tapusin na lang natin ‘to. Let’s clear this whole issue, so that we can put this to rest. Hindi ko siya naging boyfriend and hindi ko siya boyfriend ngayon. Therefore, wala akong inagawan ng boyfriend, wala akong inahas, at wala rin akong nilandi.”

Is Gerald courting her? “Hindi ako nililigawan. Naniniwala ako na may tamang panahon at oras para sa mga bagay na ganyan. Pero nananatili siyang matalik kong kaibigan ngayon.”

Was Gerald the reason why she and Joshua broke up? “Definitely hindi third party… It’s always been our own issues. We’re also very young, so we’re still trying to figure out ourselves, our direction in life, and what we really want. I think the decision that we made was a mutual decision because we knew ‘yon ang makakabuti para sa isa’t-isa. At the end of the day, pinili namin ang makakabuti para sa isa’t-isa. Ayaw na naming i-damage ang isa’t isa, so we protected each other because there is love.”

How is she dealing with the issue? “Like I said, hindi biro ang pinagdadaanan naming lahat. Ayokong i-angkin ang mga nangyayari. Lahat kami, nasasaktan. We all have our own story. We’re all dealing with our own pain. Ang pinakamasakit pa doon is nadamay ang mga pamilya namin. I’m in the process of moving forward and healing. This is not the right time anymore to point fingers.”

Seemingly referring to Bea and Gerald, she said, “She’s hurting, he’s hurting, but so am I. I’m really in so much pain right now. But kailangan magpakatatag e. We have to get back on our feet, move forward, and heal from this. Wala kaming choice. We just have to respect each other’s pain. Everyone is hurting. Hindi madali ang pinagdadaanan naming tatlo.”
