KATSEYE's Sophia Laforteza Shows Support For Filipinos During The September 21 Rallies

Published on Sep 22, 2025
Being overseas doesn't mean you can't stay informed about what's happening in the Philippines, or show solidarity for the on-ground movements being mounted for valuable causes. KATSEYE's Sophia Laforteza is proof of this, especially after she voiced her support for Filipinos calling for an end to corruption in the country.
In an Instagram story posted on September 22, Sophia shared a sincere message of solidarity, stressing the importance of speaking out against corruption.
"My heart is with my people. We all deserve a future built on truth, integrity, and hope. Para sa ating bansa, at para sa sambayanang Pilipino, we must always strive for what is just and fair," Sophia wrote.
She added, "We dream of a Philippines free from corruption, where accountability and compassion guide us forward."

Sophia acknowledged that the voices of Filipinos are "powerful and unshakeable." While she regretted that she couldn't attend the rallies in person, she made it clear that she stands in solidarity with those who were there.
On September 21, major rallies were held across the Philippines to commemorate the EDSA Revolution and to confront another fight: systemic corruption.
The demonstrations followed congressional investigations into alleged anomalies in the Department of Public Works and Highways' (DPWH) flood control projects, raising questions about how public funds and taxes are being used.

The fan added, "Imagine being this outspoken tapos yung ibang celebrities diyan tahimik lang sa socmed lol."
The KATSEYE Philippines fanbase on X also thanked Sophia for showing solidarity with her fellow citizens.
Another fan shared their hot take on Sophia's outspokenness, pointing out that even though she's abroad, she still stays informed about the issue—proving that locals can do the same.
"Sophia's not even in the Philippines, but she's aware, she's with us in this fight… Kung nasa Pilipinas siya, she'll be with her parents in the streets with the Filipino people!" the fan said.
The fan concluded, "So if nandito ka sa bansa and wala kang pakielam, what does that say about you?"
