KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual became a couple in 2010, and the two split in 2011. Their relationship was in the public eye from start to end. Their breakup was a subject of headlines when KC had a tell-all in The Buzz.
KC talked about her past relationship with Piolo in detail on an Instagram Live session with G3 San Diego on August 31, 2020.
She first recalled how she and Piolo first met, and then shared how their friendship blossomed into love. KC also said it was her first announced relationship and went on to share how it happened.
"There was a time that I didn’t really know that we're still together. Because in fact, we were together [for] a few months. We were together before we announced and then, there was a sort of breakup before we announced on TV.

"And I was a host on that show, and when he got to that show, he’s going to promote his music album. So nagulat ako noong tinanong siya na 'is it true na may inspirasyon ka na?' Sobrang sweet pa ng pagkakasabi niya, kasi na parang I was stunned and I didn’t realize that we were still trying.
"To be honest, behind the scenes, we were already together and we did not stay together and then suddenly he announced that we were together. So at that time when he asked, he wanted to really try so that’s why tulala talaga ako and he hugged me and nagkayakapan na lang kami so I was 'okay we're trying,"' she detailed.
"There’s a reason why we ended up together, for me. People have so many things to say about him. I always say na may pinagsamahan kami. He’s like 10 years older than me. He started out like a kuya to me so I know exactly what people love about him," KC shared.
“People know naman that it was very real for me. I was so young and naïve. It was announced publicly, that’s why it also had to be announced in public when it ended," she added.
She went on to explain other reasons she decided to tell the public about their split. She did not know how to tell the brands who wanted to work with them and she wasn't sure if she could be on the same projects as Piolo.
"I can’t pretend. I cannot act on set. I cannot act like we are together just to sell something. I was also very honest with myself at that time and I just said there’s no way I could continue to work with him," KC explained.
She also expressed her regret that their relationship did not last, but she clarified that they're both on good terms now. "As with any breakup, you cannot be best friends with an ex. We are civil, we are okay. We had our little quality time in London when we did 'ASAP' in London and it was a really funny, nice catch-up after everything. He asked if we could talk and without saying too much, we were able to talk a little bit," she answered.
