IMHO, Lee Do Hyun played the role of Chung Myung in Hotel Del Luna PERFECTLY, but he actually had a little trouble portraying his character at first! Do Hyun was recently featured in Esquire Magazine, and during his interview, he talked about filming for the hit K-drama.
Do Hyun said his first-ever scene was shot 10 whole times! They were shooting under the "scorching sun" and Do Hyun had yet to master his sageuk (historical drama) tone. The director even asked him, "Why are you acting like that? You didn't do it that way during the audition." OMG, Do Hyun.
Do Hyun shared: "It was the first day I met IU noona on set, and it was under a scorching hot sun…I can't forget the embarrassment and shame of that day." They ended up re-shooting the scene on another day and another location, and Do Hyun made sure to practice his sageuk tone with IU and the director.
In the series, Chung Myung is Man Wol's (IU) first love. Several centuries later, she ends up being the owner of Hotel Del Luna—a hotel for dead souls—but she still hasn't forgotten about him.
