The interview, aired on 24 Oras on October 12, gave a glimpse of what life is like for LJ who recently moved to New York with her two kids, Aki and Summer

LJ said that her kids are adjusting well to life in the United States. She shared that Aki, her son with Paulo Avelino, is now attending face-to-face classes so that he can experience a normal life again.

As for her recent activities, LJ is training in their family-owned restaurant in Brooklyn, The Buren. But according to the report, the actress has no long-term plans for now.

Nelson commended LJ for her bravery in starting a new life in a different country with two kids in tow. The actress commented, "Alam mo, Nelson, I've been always vocal about it. That if it weren't because of God, yung binibigay sa aking strength ni God, it wouldn't have been possible. Hindi ko rin inakala na nandito kami."

LJ also revealed that the Filipino community has been nothing but supportive. "You know surprisingly, wala pang Pilipino na bumisita sa Buren na nagtanong sa akin about or mention anything about personal life."

Nelson then asked LJ about forgiving Paolo and she had this to say: "Ang forgiveness is a work in progress, you know? Hindi madali ibigay ang forgiveness, e 'di ba? You forgive people to forgive yourself or whoever. You pray about it. For me, hindi kasi siya madaling bagay na ibigay. So surrender lang talaga kay God and I'm working on it."

Previously, LJ revealed in an interview with Boy Abunda that she flew to New York to be with her family. She said, "We left because I felt like I really needed to get myself and my kids out of the situation physically, para kahit papaano matulungan rin kami emotionally and mentally to recover and rebuild as a family."

While the former celebrity couple did not reveal the cause of their breakup, Paolo, who admitted that he was unfaithful to LJ through the course of their six-year relationship said, "Aaminin ko, naging marupok at gago ako sa ilang taon naming pagsasama. I'm not proud of it. For that, I'm sincerely sorry. I'm truly ashamed of my actions."
