An Algerian man is reportedly seeking $20,000 (about P900,000) in damages for the "psychological suffering" he says his new wife has caused him by not wearing makeup.
According to Emirates 247, on waking up the morning after their wedding, the groom was so shocked by the sight of the woman he had just wedded that he said he thought she was a thief who had broken in to his apartment.
A court source told local newspapers that the groom "believed he was deceived by her as she used to fill up her face with make up before their marriage." Nice.
"He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief," the source continued.
So, yes, romance is six feet under.
