On Saturday, October 2, Maymay Entrata took to Twitter to set the record straight about rumors between her and Donny Pangilinan. She started off her tweet by thanking her fans and those who've been shipping her and Donny, but she wanted to clarify that there is absolutely no truth in a supposed romance between them:
"Gusto kong magpasalamat sa bawat isa sa mga sumuporta sakin since day one. Sa lahat ng MayDon fans thank you pero gusto ko rin pong klaruhin na wala pong namamagitan sa aming dalawa."
She then urged netizens to stop spreading these rumors about her and Donny: "Sana ma-stop po ang pag-spread ng rumors about samin. Maraming salamat po."
ICYDK, Maymay and Donny have been shipped by their fans as early as 2019 because the two have grown close as hosts of ASAP. They also apparently go to the same church, along with Maymay's love team partner Edward Barber. Maymay actually debunked that she and Donny had a ~thing~ in an interview on Hotspot last June: "Siguro nagsimula 'yan kay Donny dahil kasama ko siya lagi sa iWant ASAP. At doon yata may mga clip na parang nami-misunderstood nila yung mga galawan namin, yung smile namin, na akala nila nagtitinginan. Hindi ko alam talaga. Jusko day! Pero hindi po kami ni Donny. Wala po kahit sino sa showbiz, wala."
Maymay then went on to stress that someone NOT in the 'biz is making her happy right now—and, yup, that's neither Donny nor Edward: "Nabanggit ko na naman po ito sa isang magazine na may nagpapasaya sa akin. Opo. Hanggang doon na lang. Basta wala sa showbiz."
