Singer Michael Bublé was so grateful and impressed with how a Filipino nurse took care of his grandfather that he is giving her a house.
The Canadian crooner is actually just fulfilling his grandfather's wish for the nurse, named Minette, to have her own home.
In an episode of the TV show Celebrity IOU, Bublé asks help from the Scott brothers Drew and Jonathan—best known for their other HGTV show Property Brothers—to renovate his grandfather's house.
They did it while Minette was vacationing here in the Philippines.
"I hired Minette, the nurse, to come and live with (my grandfather) and by the end, (she) was his best friend," Bublé said.
Like many Filipinos working overseas, she sends money to family living back in the Philippines.
"I think my grandpa would be thrilled knowing that maybe we could lessen the burden a little bit, allowing Minette to continue helping her family without it being so hard on her," he added.
In the episode, Bublé himself drove Minette to the house and presented it to her, which of course led to the nurse getting all emotional.
"My grandfather, his greatest wish was not just that I kept this house in the family, but it was that this would be your home cause he loved you so much and so there is no documentary this is all for you," he said to her.
"Grandpa, thank you so much," Minette says in an interview. "Because even beyond wherever he is, he's still thinking. Through you," pointing at Bublé.
"I guess I am part of the family," she added.
