Minzy Just Launched Her Own Entertainment Agency, MZ Entertainment

For today’s latest K-pop news: 2NE1 member and solo artist Minzy has just launched her own entertainment agency, MZ Entertainment.

In 2016, the K-pop idol
 left YG Entertainment and went on to be a solo artist under The Music Works agency. Three years later, she took legal action against the said agency after her request for the suspension of her exclusive contract was denied. In April this year, Minzy officially separated from The Music Works.

According to Soompi, the “Superwoman” singer has established MZ Entertainment with management specialist Gong Soon Yong, who will act as the agency’s CEO. The two will lead the company in building a pool of talents, backed by Minzy’s 11 years of experience in the K-pop industry and Soon Yong’s 30 years of experience in the field of business. It is said that MZ entertainment will function as a dance school with a specialized training system.

The name MZ Entertainment is derived from the company’s goal to mold K-pop stars from the “millennium Z” generation. It aims to cultivate their potential and personalities, and support their future endeavors as artists. Minzy will also be under this agency while she promotes her solo activities.

Minzy has recently appeared in a talk show with her fellow 2NE1 member, Sandara Park. She released her comeback single “Lovely” earlier this year, which she wrote as a message to herself and her fans.
