More than two decades after Jennifer Lopez’s Selena came out, there’s going to be a new series about Selena Quintanilla, the Queen of Tejano Music. The Netflix series will tell the story of the Grammy winner who went by her first name only. Selena’s most famous songs include “Dreaming Of You,” “Como La Flor,” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.” At the height of her success, she was shot dead in 1995 by her fan club president and friend, Yolanda Saldivar.
In 1997, her story was adapted for the big screen in Selena, which was J. Lo’s breakout movie role.
Selena: The Series will star Christian Serratos, who plays Rosita Espinosa on The Walking Dead. She previously played Angela Weber, one of Bella Swan’s human friends, in the Twilight movie series.

Coming out in 2020, the series will be split into two, with the first half composed of six hour-long episodes, according to TVLine. The late singer’s family members serve as executive producers of the show, according to CNN.
