In May 2021, Riva Quenery and longtime love Vern Ong announced that they're expecting their first child together. The actress, who starred in the The House Arrest of Us series, is having a baby girl! After a lot of requests from fans, the two decided to share their story, including, yes, how they met.
Actually, Riva and Vern met in a bar in BGC, thanks to mutual friends. When Vern arrived at the bar, their friend made the usual introductions but it wasn't until a few hours later that they really got to talking (as in mga 3:00 a.m. na, guys). They were sitting on the same couch and eventually started getting to know each other.
The next question was about the *first* message Vern sent Riva—and our girl scrolled alllll the way back to 2018.
It was a response to her Instagram Story that read: "Browsed your IG feed and stories! You look happy and active. Why parang sad vibe ka nun when you [were] with me last Saturday?" In case you didn't know, Vern courted Riva for six months before they became official. Aww!
