Taylor Swift Is The 'Artist Of The Decade' At The American Music Awards 2019

Receiving prestigious awards isn't something new to Taylor Swift, having been nominated for—and winning—A LOT of awards since 2007. This month, she gets to add another one to her growing list of awards: the 'Artist of The Decade' at the American Music Awards 2019!

Taylor Swift is the first female artist to receive this award, following only Garth Brooks who received it in 2000.

In the AMAs alone, Taylor has already received a total of 23 awards (this one is the 24th!) and it may even expand up to 29, given her five nominations: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, Favorite Music Video for "You Need to Calm Down," and Favorite Pop/Rock Album for "Lover."

Other nominees for the Artist of The Year category are Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey, and Post Malone. Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande are also against Taylor in three categories: Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album, and Favorite Music Video. Meanwhile, BTS, the Jonas Brothers, and Panic! At The Disco are nominated for the Favorite Duo Or Group – Pop/Rock category.
