Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica have been through A LOT together. They first started dating in 2011 and now they have two kids. But after the two shared several cryptic social media posts in February 2021, breakup rumors surfaced.
In a July 2021 interview, Kylie's dad Robin Padilla confirmed the separation, saying Kylie was the one who broke up with Aljur and that the separation involved a third party on Aljur's end. Kylie also released a statement on July 8, saying that she and Aljur are now working on a "healthy co-parenting relationship" for their children's sake.
Here, let's take a look back at some of their most important couple moments, from 2011 to 2021:
July 2011: Kylie and Aljur are revealed to be in a relationship.
At first, they said that they just had a "mutual understanding." Eventually, they confirmed that they were actually "exclusively dating." And we all know that's showbizspeak for, "We're a couple."
November 2012: Aljur reveals that he met Kylie's father, Robin Padilla.
He explained that he made it clear to Kylie's dad that he was serious about their relationship.
February 2013: Aljur buys a new house.
Of course, he showed it to Kylie. Aljur revealed that Kylie was also with him when he closed the deal on the house.
June 2014: Kylie reveals that she and Aljur have broken up.
She told GMA News, "There were rumors of me having a third party. So siyempre naka-apekto sa kanya (Aljur) 'yon. After that, nagulo na lahat." At that time, Kylie starred in the TV series Adarna with Geoff Eigenmann as her leading man. Kylie dismissed rumors of her being linked to Geoff.
September to November 2016: Two years after their alleged break up, Aljur and Kylie get back together.
Aljur confirmed that he and Kylie were, indeed, a couple again. He said they needed time to grow up, and they were able to do that while they were apart. The couple also went to Japan for a vacation.
January 2017: News of Kylie's pregnancy is reported.
On January 23, PEP reported that Kylie was three months pregnant. Kylie's fans started using the hashtag #KeepAmihan in their social media posts. Amihan is the character that the actress played in the GMA fantasy-themed drama series Encantadia. Fans feared that the character would be killed off due to Kylie's pregnancy. Aljur's fans also flooded his Instagram page with comments.
January 2017: Aljur and Kylie officially get engaged!
Kylie shared a photo of her and Aljur hugging, with the caption: "Know these past days have been rough but I can't wait for the day people get to know you like I know you. Can't wait to share how it happened. I'm just happy I am sharing it with you."
August 2017: Kylie gives birth to their firstborn Alas Joaquin.
On Instagram, Kylie shared a photo of "the two boys who own my heart." Alas' *exact* birthday is on August 4, 2017.
December 2018: Aljur and Kylie get married!
The ceremony took place on December 11, 2018, at Villa Milagros in Rodriguez, Rizal. According to their planner, La Belle Fête Weddings & Events, the wedding was planned in only two weeks!
September 2019: They attend the ABS-CBN ball together.
At that time, Kylie was already pregnant with their second child.
December 2019: Kylie gives birth to their second son, Axl Romeo.
In an Instagram post, Kylie uploaded a video of Aljur singing to her as she was going through labor! "Alas was in the other room watching his favorite Disney movie Coco while I was in labor with his dad and my family [was] in the other," Kylie wrote. "I asked my husband to sing for me because I found it soothing to hear his voice up until I reached nine centimeters and my water broke."
December 2020: They celebrate their second anniversary as a married couple.
Aljur posted a greeting for Kylie, writing in the caption: "Happy 2nd Anniversary! Ano pa man ang wish mo Mahal. Will make sure to grant it ako pa."
February 2021: Kylie's cryptic Instagram posts spark breakup rumors.
Multiple reports showed Kylie's now-deleted Instagram Story where she says "I'm submissive not stupid," and an IG post of her wearing a red dress with the caption "free." Kylie also shared a photo of her hand sans her wedding ring.
July 7, 2021: Robin Padilla reveals the two have separated.
In an interview on Ogie Diaz's vlog, Kylie's dad revealed that Kylie was the one who broke up with Aljur, and that the separation involved a third party on Aljur's end. He said that despite the separation, Aljur and Kylie seem to be on good terms. He added that he hopes the two can fix their relationship for the sake of their children.
July 8, 2021: Kylie confirms the split, saying they are now working on a healthy co-parenting reationship.

"Every family goes through a lot of challenges and sometimes we think that it is only the couple that goes through the ordeal. We forget the kids and the people that are involved in the family."
"In the past few months, our family has gone through the process of recovering, healing, and moving on. All we need right now is respect—first and foremost on the decisions we have made as a family, and respect for each and every member of our family—to Aljur who is the father of my two wonderful boys, most especially to Alas and Axl who are at this point very fragile, and also to our families from both sides who have guided us along the way."
