Alex Gonzaga's vlog, with over two million subscribers, is not your typical canned production. As Toni Gonzaga reveals on Tonight With Boy Abunda, it is her sister Alex's story of breaking out from her mold and stepping out from her (Toni's) shadow, "Baka magalit siya sakin, I will share [that] she consulted a life coach. She had some issues because people would always perceive her as someone who is trying to be me." According to Toni, Alex would tell her, "Ikaw, maingay ka sa TV pero tahimik ka sa personalAko, maingay ako on- and off-cam pero ang tingin nila ginagaya kita."

Alex, with her innate spontaneous and candid personality, felt clipped under the traditional platforms where scripts are needed. Toni shares, "She feels she so restricted on television, which is true because we play certain roles. We have to follow a certain script, and my sister is unscripted. So, nag-work sa kanya ang vlog."

When Alex was encouraged by her friend Winnie Wong of penelopepop.com to have an "outlet" to let her own personality shine, the vlog project took off. Winnie's collaboration with Alex covers video editing, production, and managing her online presence. Winnie is the girlfriend of Paul Soriano's brother, Toni reveals.

In the same interview, Toni shares she is happy for Alex and holds no qualms if Alex's wildly popular vlog is poised to outshine her fame.
