The 2020 Miss Universe competition just crowned their new queen, 26-year-old software engineer Andrea Meza of Mexico! Earlier today, the Twitterverse had *a lot* to say about Miss U hosts Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo and their supposed ~lack of energy~ during the start of the pageant. And now, post-competition, there are even more tweets about Olivia, this time about her reaction after announcing the second runner-up, Peru.
After the Final Question and Statement rounds of the Top 5 finalists, it seemed that Janick Maceta del Castillo of Peru was a sure-in for the crown because of her impressive answers on domestic abuse and climate change. But right after Olivia announced that Peru got the second runner-up slot, viewers noticed her not-so-subtle double-take when she read her cue card again.
Some fans called the *plot twist* "shocking" and noticed that Olivia was "dumbfounded." Some were rooting for Peru or even India to be called as the night's winner, and even Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray said in an interview with ABS-CBN that it was "a night of surprises."
