Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto continues to make headlines for his innovative leadership decisions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. But being the 30-year-old that he is, he's also very social media-savvy and, can I daresay, absolutely hilarious online. His very ~millennial~ antics have caught the attention of mainstream media because he's just that entertaining. One such example is Vico's most recent Instagram Story. On Sunday, April 12, Vico shared an image of himself on the GMA-7 news program 24 Oras where he was mistakenly was identified as a "tricycle operator." Writing on IG, he said, "May tricycle pala ako!"
The story, according to PEP.ph, was actually about the distribution of food packs in Pasig City. The post seemed to have reached Twitter user @zai_taguinod who identified himself as the producer of the particular story. Zai, a broadcast journalist as stated on his Twitter profile, apologized for the mistake and posted a picture of the correct identifier, "Pasig City."
Vico totally took this incident as a "comic relief" and replied to Zai not to "worry about it." Aww!
Here's Mayor Vico's full reply to Zai:
"Don't worry about it! Sa panahon ngayon, kailangan din natin ng konting comic relief.
Wag lang po ito makita ng *** at baka isipin nila totoo!! Haha
[Btw, speaking of tricycles...natapos na natin ang pamamahagi ng tulong-pinansyal sa 87 TODA + 2 PODA (padyak) ng Pasig]"
