Imagine talking to all your friends, no matter where they are in the world, at the same time. For free. Now, stop daydreaming because this is a real option on Facebook Messenger (seriously, what did we do without Facebook?).
As of today, group calling has officially been launched as a feature of Facebook. Head of Messenger (Side note: How does one get that job?) David Marcus revealed the news on Facebook, naturally. "Really excited to announce the global roll out of group calling in Messenger today,” he wrote.
He also gave instructions for using the feature—and its easy peasy. It basically works the exact same way as voice calls on Messenger, with just one extra step: after tapping the phone icon, the caller can select who from the group to include in the call.
“From any group conversations, just tap on the phone icon to initiate a group call. You can then manage individual participants on the next screen,” says Marcus.
"If you have the latest version of Messenger, you should see the phone icon appear in group conversations within the next 24 hours. Give it a try, and as always, let us know how we can make it even better for you!"
So, what are you waiting for?
