Three Filipinos Quarantined In New Clark City Showed Symptoms Of COVID-19

They are currently under evaluation at a Pampanga hospital.

Three Filipinos among those under quarantine at New Clark City are under observation after exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus disease or COVID-19.

In an interview with CNN Philippines, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III shared that the three were brought to the Jose B. Lingad hospital in Pampanga after showing signs of the disease such as cough and colds. Their throat swabs were forwarded to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine for testing.

458 Filipinos are currently quarantined at the New Clark City's Athletic Village, comprised of 440 from the crew of the Diamond Princess cruise ship and five tourists, along with members of the repatriation team. They arrived in batches from February 24 to February 25. 

To date, DOH has recorded three confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 40 cases with pending test results, and 64 persons under investigation (PUI) for the disease.
