The South Korean actor will be coming to Manila for his first-ever Asia fan meeting, Summer Letter, on June 22, 2024. ICYDK, he gained global popularity with his role as Ryu Sun Jae in the phenomenal K-drama, Lovely Runner.
On Friday, June 21, Woo Seok faced members of the press and nearly gave everyone a heart attack! Why? Because he personally gave out yellow flowers to each and every journalist at his press conference.
Wearing a gray suit and his charming smile, he had us swooning left and right, you guys. He gently handed over the flowers, made eye contact (!), and made our hearts flutter to the max! (TBH, I didn't know how I survived it.)
After all the kilig overload experience, Woo Seok greeted everyone. Appreciative and insightful, the actor took his time in answering the questions during the press conference.
Byeon Woo Seok on Lovely Runner's sudden popularity
Lovely Runner first aired last April 2024, and it shocked the world with its wholesome and interesting story. It grew into a global phenomenon and also lent a major boost in popularity and success to its lead cast, namely Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon.
Speaking to the Philippine media, Woo Seok admitted that he's still not used to the intense fame he's experiencing right now. For him, everything was so unexpected and he's still in awe of everything that's been unfolding right in front of him.
Quoting the translator during the press conference, "I'm still not used to this sudden popularity at the moment. Every day itself is a big surprise to me right now. It's like a dream."
Woo Seok also did not forget to express his gratitude to the fans of Lovely Runner. He even mentioned how surprised he was that so many people were waiting for him last night at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, anticipating his Manila arrival.

ICYDK, Woo Seok started his career as a model, before becoming an actor. He has so much love for his craft, especially now that he has cemented his spot in the global entertainment landscape.
He has done a lot of remarkable projects in the past too, namely Strong Girl Nam Soon, 20th Century Girl, Record of Youth, and more. Moving forward, Woo Seok hopes to be an actor who will can be remembered through every role he plays.
"Since you liked Sunjae, I hope you also love and adore the next characters I will play. I hope you also remember every character I would play," he shared.
Woo Seok also noted that he looks forward to doing a romantic-comedy drama again in the future. After all, he's got the melo eyes and the comedic chops for it!
FYI, if he existed in an alternate timeline and wasn't an actor, he would be a business owner—specifically, a coffee shop owner! Take note that he doesn't drink coffee: he only likes to serve coffee, LOL!
Byeon Woo Seok on preparing for his fan meeting
Byeon Woo Seok's Summer Letter in Manila fan meeting will be held at 6PM on June 22, 2024 at the New Frontier Theater. It will be his first-ever fan meet in the Philippines. Actually, it's also his first time in the country!
Woo Seok happily talked about his preparation for the fan meet. He admitted that what he's most looking forward to is to fulfill his wish of giving everyone a good time during the event.
"I wish that my fans would go home with good memories. Just having that thought, that's the biggest preparation that I've been doing," Woo Seok warmly expressed.
Fans who have secured tickets to his Summer Letter fan meeting will surely enjoy it as he prepared different stages—including a song performance!
He even spilled some exclusive details about his career plans during his last message for his fans. Woo Seok openly shared, "Thank you SO much for your overwhelming love, not just to me but also to Ryu Sunjae. I hope I can see all of you tomorrow. Please look forward to my next project which will be released in few months."
As he bid goodbye, he told the press to take care because it was raining outside. He's such a sweet guy!
